DIY Beach Photo Ideas For Moms

It’s summertime and we’ll all be laying by the beach at some point.  If you are taking your baby to the beach for this year, it is a great place to do some DIY baby photography. Now most of you probably don’t even know where to start or what to shoot.  I’m here to tell you it’s not hard!  You just need a camera, the beach, some props, and your baby.

Get a closeup of your baby’s face

A baby face portrait is a great idea!  Of course, you want it to be perfect. I’d recommend doing any photography at sunrise or sunset, especially portraits.  This has always been my general rule, but when a baby is added to a timeline, the rules can get broken.  For a closeup, you should make sure the sun is on the baby’s back so at least there’s a shadow and the focus is on the eyes.

Your baby crawling in the sand

You don’t have to take photos with your child looking into the camera all the time.  The best photos are the ones that are unexpected and spontaneous.  Relax and let your baby play in the sand, crawl or run and snap away.

There are other types of photos you can take at the beach besides portraits.  When your baby or toddler isn’t looking at the camera, you can get some of the best photos.

Shells, starfish, sand buckets

When you do beach photography of your baby, there are lots of props you can use.  Let your kid play with a large seashell, starfish, and sand bucket.  They’re easy to find at the beach or online. There’s no way you can go wrong with this shot!  You can take this photo easily when they’re sitting and playing in the sand!

Have fun with your shoot and be spontaneous!

When it comes to baby beach photography, you don’t need anything expensive. You can get starfish, seashells, and buckets at your local craft store or online. Have fun with your shoot and be spontaneous!
